K’gari Stay is more than a business for us—it’s a dream that grew into a way of life.

We’re Adam Bush and Sharyn O’Keeffe, and our story began years ago working in hotels. That’s where we first met, and where we discovered not only a love for hospitality, but also for each other. We shared the same spark—wanting to create something special for people, where every stay feels like more than just a holiday.

Over time, that spark grew into a dream: one day, we’d have our own properties on Fraser Island, as it was known at the time, the island we both fell in love with. We imagined spaces where families could laugh together, couples could unwind, and adventurers could return to comfort after a big day exploring.

Starting with one property, we rolled up our sleeves, poured our hearts into renovations, and learned as we went. We found that we loved the process—transforming houses into welcoming holiday homes and watching guests light up when they walked in the door.

Today, that dream has become five beautiful properties across K’gari. Each one has its own story, but they all carry the same heart: thoughtful details, warm touches, and a focus on making sure every guest feels at home. For us, nothing is more rewarding than seeing people make memories in the spaces we’ve created.

This is still just the beginning of our journey, and we’re so excited to keep growing, renovating, and welcoming more guests to the island that stole our hearts.
